Harvested Garden ("we," "our," or "the app") helps you plan, track, and care for your garden. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep our data practices simple: we collect only what the app needs to work, we don't sell your data, and we don't show ads.
Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely stored password so you can sign in and sync your data across devices.
Location you provide. You enter a ZIP code to get your USDA grow zone and local weather. We use it to derive your zone, approximate coordinates, and regional information. We do not collect your device's precise GPS location.
Garden content. The gardens, plants, journal entries, fertilizer logs, and photos you add to the app.
Advisor questions. The questions you ask the in-app plant advisor, along with relevant context about your plants, so the advisor can answer them.
Purchase information. If you subscribe, purchases are handled by Apple and our subscription provider (RevenueCat). We receive your subscription status, but never your full payment card details.
Basic diagnostic data. Standard technical logs (such as error information) needed to keep the app running reliably.
How we use your information
To provide core features — grow-zone detection, weather, harvest planning, care tracking, and the plant advisor.
To sync your garden data securely to your account.
To send you the alerts and reminders you enable (such as pest, frost, and fertilizer reminders).
To maintain, secure, and improve the app.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers that process data on our behalf:
Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and file storage.
Anthropic — powers the AI plant advisor. The text of your advisor questions (and related plant context) is sent to Anthropic to generate a response. It is not used to identify you.
RevenueCat & Apple — process and manage subscriptions and in-app purchases.
National Weather Service — provides weather data based on the area of the ZIP code you enter.
These providers are permitted to use your information only to provide their services to us.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share information only with the service providers listed above, or when required by law.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing us at harvestedgarden@gmail.com. We will delete your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it by law.
Security
Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with access controls that restrict each account to its own data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Children's privacy
Harvested Garden is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
